The K.A. Timiryazev Scientific and Art Museum of Horse Breeding of the Timiryazev Russian State Agricultural Academy opened in 1929. It was founded on the collection of Y.I. Butovich, who amassed more than 1,200 exhibits dedicated to horses. In 1940, the museum was transferred to the Agricultural Academy named after Timiryazev. Since then, the museum has been showcasing the incredible variety of horse breeds and the fascinating history of horse breeding. The museum has thousands of items in its collection, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and books. The authors include Serov, Vrubel, Surikov, and others. The museum boasts over 3,500 works of art, a vast video and photo library, and a comprehensive collection of 12,000 magazines and books.
